Overview

Unenclosed Vertical Platform Lifts are for low rise locations (max. 5'0" in public buildings).

Stage applications are the most common use for the unenclosed lift.  They have a safety pan underneath the platform to protect the space below, rather than an enclosure.  Some jurisdictions, such as New York City, do not allow unenclosed lifts in commercial settings.

Product Features

Flip up Ramp. The advantage of an unenclosed platform lift is a platform with a mounted ramp. We can provide an affordable, integrated 24V power gate operator for this platform. We recommend a pit of 3" to eliminate the incline to board the lift.

Safety Pan. Unenclosed lifts are equipped with a safety pan under the platform. If an obstruction is encountered, it will stop the lift with 2" and a force of no more than 15 lbs.

Mast Heater. For outside installations, a mast heater can be installed to protect the hydraulic fluid from freezing.

Drive Systems

There are two drive systems available for the Genesis Enclosure.

Leadscrew Drive System

Hydraulic Drive System

  Manual Emergency Lowering Handwheel (standard)
  Battery Powered Emergency Lowering (optional)
  Electrical Disconnect (optional)

Mains Power Requirement:
North America - 120 VAC single phase on a dedicated 20 amp circuit.
International - 208-240 VAC single phase on dedicated 16 amp circuit
Driven by a single-phase 3 HP hydraulic motor
Powered by continuous mains power with auxiliary power system (standard)
Platform travels between landings at 5.2 meters (17 ft.) per minute
Seven lifting heights up to a maximum of 4343mm (171") - floor mounted
  Manual Emergency Lowering
(standard)
  Mast Heater (optional)
  Remote Drive Cabinet (optional)
  Electrical Disconnect (optional)
  Full time battery operation (optional)

Platforms

According to the ASME A18.1 safety standard for platform size and capacity, we cannot exceed 18 square feet. Usability standards require a minimum of 36"x48".

To accomodate most wheelchairs and scooters, we need to use the largest possible platforms. We recommend a minimum of 36"x60" and in order to exit a platform on an adjacent side, the minimum should be 42"x60" clear.

Doors on the long side of platforms must be 42" clear (not a 42" door panel but clear when open to 90 degrees).

Controls

The standard platform controls for the Genesis OPAL vertical lift consist of an easy to use rocker style switch and an audible illuminated emergency stop/alarm switch.

Optional:  Illuminated and tactile constant pressure buttons.

The lower call station is remotely mounted on the wall or on the back of the mast. The upper call station can be mounted in the frame of the lift beside the upper gate or can be wall mounted.

Optional:  Illuminated and tactile constant pressure buttons.

Appearance

The standard finish is textured Satin Grey for the steel panels and champagne anodized aluminum extrusions for the framework.

As an option, the steel panels and aluminum extrusions can be painted from the large selection of RAL colors (Custom RAL Color Chart (pdf)).  Tiger Drylac also offers metalic and special finishes (charts provided on request).

When located outdoors, the lift is specially prepared to ensure durability and reliable performance. Included in the outdoor package are hot dipped galvanized base, plated platform, plated mezzanine brackets, sealed electrical box, rubber boots on switches and stainless steel fasteners.
