A Home for Veterans: American Legion Post 108

Veterans who belong to American Legion post 108 in Little Falls, NJ desperately needed an accessibility solution. Two sets of stairs prevented veterans from accessing most of the rooms in their building. Homes for Veterans, a charity run by Francesca DiPaola, came to the rescue. Homes for Veterans partnered with Handi-Lift to install two stair lifts. A noble, group effort from the surrounding community allowed post 108 of the American Legion to purchase these lifts. ABC 7 On Your Side joined the team and helped spread the word. The Gym” in Englewood donated their profits from Veteran’s Day weekend to this cause. Adopt A Soldier Platoon” contributed by matching donations from The Gym”. With the support of these organizations, Handi-Lift installed a straight stair lift by Stannah and a curved stair lift by Bruno. We are excited to partner with Homes for Veterans for future projects.
